Piero Turk

I started working in 1983 with Adriano Goldschmied at his Genius Group (including DIESEL and REPLAY among many other brands).
In 1987 i joined Mr. Goldschmied  as partner in the Team Kit design studio.
Until 2000 we worked for many of the most important brands around the world.
On year 2000 I opened my own design studio, Envelope, in Treviso. During these 16 years I’ve been working for many brands and cooperating with jeans brands, manufacturers, laundries and denim mills all around the world.
Replay, Edwin, Guess, Seven, Lee, Big Star, AG, Hilfiger Denim, Sportmax, Pepe Jeans, K by Karl Lagerfeld, See by Chloe, Jacob Cohen are some of the brands.
Denim Village and Fashion Point in Turkey, Atalntic in Morocco are some of the manufacturers.
Last but not least I worked with Orta Anadolu and Bossa Denim.

DESCRIBE THE WORD "PREMIUM" WITH YOUR OWN GURU WORDS

Premium for me means a denim product that doesn’t need to be over designed or over branded to show its high value.
A product made with high quality fabrics and manufacturing, with a good design background idea to last over seasons and years.

WHAT DO YOU FIND EXCITING ABOUT DENIM AND WHAT BORING?

Exciting in denim is the never ending development, its way to become thousands of different products keeping its roots.
Boring is the more and more low level of product without identity.

IS STRETCH SELVEDGE DENIM REALLY HAPPENING?

Stretch selvedge denim is reaching a good quality level, combining elasticity and comfort with original denim look to match the need of slim/skinny fits with the love for original selvedge denim.
It’s already happening, many brands are already using it and many consumers buying it.
