The artist creates amazing sculpture made of jeans
Huge fish flying heads made of the best denim. The artist Afran made some spectacular sculptures with Candiani textile.
They were at the Triennale in Milan in Itlay during the exhibition “Textile vivant. Paths, experiences and research in textile design”.
This exhibition addresses the role of innovation in textile design and the specific case of textiles Made in Italy. The aim is to provide, along multiple paths, an overview of the innovations and the most interesting aspects of scientific research on textiles in the modern and contemporary era. This means exploring the relationship between knowledge and the expressive potential of fabrics, and the increasingly important role played by design and engineering of materials in the creation of new fabrics and in the new strategies of application of skills found in the territory, in the industrial districts and leading manufacturers of fashion textiles and other products. And this is exactly what Afran does.
Its works are complex, structured, multidimensional objects able to create a great emotion in the spectator who is stunned, impressed and interested at the same time. Many particulars build up every single work of art where zips, pokets and stitchings are superimposed giving the fish’s heads a kind of soul.
Candiani denim is perfect to reach this goal because of the great quality and cure of the textile. Candiani is a unique example of "Made in Italy" excellence. In four generations it has become the world's finest mill in the Denim World. And Afran works of art are the best celebration.
