The G2 ozone technology for disinfecting face protection masks
The Covid-19 crisis hit every industry and among companies that are trying to react, Jeanologia faced the situation with the resources at its disposal.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent; it is the one most adaptable to change, Charles Darwin said, and this goes for business too. Some luxury and fashion brands used their production lines to start making hand sanitizer or masks. Also the company leader in sustainable and eco-efficient technology development is actively committed in fighting this emergency, partnering with the Spanish Government, universities and technology centers.
Jeanologia has repurposed its ozone based G2 technology for sustainable jeans processing to an innovative method for sanitization and disinfecting face protection masks before being delivered to health workers. Over the last 15 years, the Spanish company has been applying its expertise in producing ozone to make the industry more sustainable, so convert their G2 technology was the most logical solution and they were able to do such an effort in one week only!
“Facing the global uncertainty, we have transformed ourselves in record time, showing our capacity for leadership”, said Enrique Silla, Jeanologia’s founder. “We take the face protection masks to be disinfected and put them into a hermetically sealed chamber – Sanitizingbox – subjecting them to a determined quantity of ozone. Through advanced oxidation, bacteria are eliminated, and the material is disinfected”. The results achieved are impressive: 15,000 masks a day have been sanitized thanks to this technology.
“We are going to continue working in this direction with our R&D team because the sanitization of apparel and workwear is demanded by brands and consumers”, added Enrique Silla. “After COVID-19, eco-sustainable production will become obligatory for everyone. Only the companies that have put people and planet before profits and have a purpose will be able to survive” concluded Mr. Silla, confirming what Charles Darwin said more than 100 years ago.
