Closed introduces its Spring Summer 2018 collection for men and women
A never-ending summer, lightness in material, workwear and military pieces: welcome to Closed Spring-Summer 2018 men’s collection.
The items seem to be touched by the sea, salt and sun: summery fabrics, special washes and laser treatments give the clothes their one- of-a- kind feel. Pleated chinos and large combat pants give volume to the collection, while the structure and the finishing of knits and jerseys add freshness.
On the tailored side, jackets with heavy stitching and utilitarian details play on the contrast between rough and soft. With the outerwear, the high summer pieces offer an extended range of indigo-dyed shorts highlighted with Hawaii prints.
The color palette combines faded neutrals with a range of pastels such as seashell pink, pale turquoise and light pool blue that give the collection its signature evocative feeling.
Don’t miss the capsule collection created with Vetra and Orcival French brands: the Italian Closed unites the essence of both brands in a line that takes inspiration from the vintage- workwear, made in France and washed and dyed in Italy. The result is a tribute to the heritage of vintage French workwear revisited through the eyes of Closed.
But, what about women?
Closed’s Spring takes inspiration from David Bowie and his lunar songs, from Space Oddity to Moonage Daydream. In Prettiest Star collection, stars are the topoi; sometimes magnified to extreme proportions, sometimes laser-cut into the denim, abstractly knitted in light mohair or embroidered onto soft blue city shirts. Sparkling lurex and futuristic metallics make the rest with an easy neutral color palette with a touch of 70’s-inspired tangerine.
Modern neutrals accentuated by a splash of hot pink for Starman, with smaller and more refined stars printed on silk or studded on leather biker jackets combined with marine stripes and soft 90’s androgyny to form a sophisticated urban collection. Strongly focused on that masculine-feminine balance, the athletic touch of sweatpants is combined with cashmere hoodies and parkas.
Different inspiration for Summers collection that celebrates the contrast of yin and yang.
From nods to vintage Japanese workwear, mixes of denim, sporty items and a triumph of blue, gold, green and white of Singing the Blues line, to the most romantic Jardin des Fleurs that puts casual into a new feminine perspective. Like yin and yang, the collection consists of contrasting styles that mix pretty dresses with functional pieces, crafted in easy materials. The color palette is a celebration of the sunny season from sunflower yellow and camellia pink to electric blue. Sweet prints add a feminine touch.
