On Seeing Blue
Manuel is a Laundry guy. Laura is an illustrator.
Love is what has united them, by the tropical beaches and the lush forests of Colombia, they came together in life and work under the bluest of Latin American skies.
Manuel loves and works for denim, Laura just loves it. Probably as much as her detailed pencil drawings or her water stain artistic techniques. But these techniques don’t just come from art school, they come from Manuel’s know how on washing, bleaching and aging denim.
This is where two souls become one.
Where one washes, the other one stains. Where one draws and colours, the other rubs and bleach.
It’s in the beauty of the semantic contradiction that “De Ver Azul” is born. Love out of love of denim has produced amazing pieces of art that celebrate blue and the most worn fabric of the world.
They are a testimony of beauty and the possibility that denim offers to be changed, re invented, broken and interpreted.
They are a legacy of the love of two people who share a passion and a vision for the new.
Viva l’amor. Viva Colombia!
