AMFI collaborates with Italian denim ‘Kingpins’ and launches new brand KAPOW in Amsterdam.
During of the Amsterdam Denim Days, we took part in KAPOW official launch party.
KAPOW! is the new brand created by AMFI and House of Denim Jean School, with support with the denim industry.
KAPOW is an energetic pigheaded jeans collection with denim mastery in its genes. The new brand flies headfirst and full throttle into fearless experimentation in treatments, prints and unconventional finishes. The philosophy is to challenge the status quo by constant innovation and an appreciation for the absurd and illogical. KAPOW a super power that can save you from mediocrity, protocol and conventional aesthetics!
Six young and creative Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) students created the brand concept, designs and prototypes, reflecting alignment of AMFI’s three fashion departments of design, management and branding. AMFI's vision and the expertise of denim partners Diesel, Candiani Denim and Martelli mirrored the way in which the industry works.
Candiani Denim offered their state-of-the-art denim fabrics. Martelli opened up the doors of their textile finishing laundry and allowed the students to experiment freely. Diesel staff facilitated the project and partners shared milestones in the process via tumblr, the microblogging and social networking site from Yahoo.
KAPOW was launched at The Kingpins Show, the travelling denim trade fair that broke ground for the very first time in Amsterdam four days ago. AMFI and Jean School were honored to have a prominent position in the invitation-only show held at Westergasfabriek’s Gashouder hall among the most premium selection of vendors. The students were overwhelmed with the positive feedback and enthusiasm from the high volume of visitors.
