New denim, washes and combinations both for men and women
Replay is ready for a new beginning and it wants to start this era from the newest fall-winter 2015 collection.
A fresher image for the brand that, however, still remains attached to its heritage, where denim turns into a territory of research and experimentation, shirts take on an ever smarter & slicker design slant, not to mention the eco-friendly turning point, with faux leather and faux fur items, Waterzero washes (which means no water) and down-free puffers with high-tech thermal padding. The passion for research and experimentation took the brand toward new horizons: as a result, here there are new constructions, designs, fits, materials, shapes and volumes.
The collections is made up of four main themes: Contemporary Vintage – real protagonist of the collection, D-signer – about setting cool urban style day & night, Back to Black – which celebrates the darkest of hues, Essential – the new basic items.
For their casual days women choose down-free puffer clearly reversible jackets, parka with fluo faux fur lining, army bomber with relief effects, biker jacket in a faux leather & fleece mix; but when the sun comes down, they prefer glitter, iridescence and sequin embroideries. Neoprene, nylon, thermowelding, bold colour, graphics and technically advanced prints identify top pieces, while fluid lines and fabrics in shades of black and grey do the same for bottoms.
Menswear takes brand’s iconic pieces to a new customized level, where the classic men’s shirt as oxford, end-on-end and pinpoint fabrics find new life in maxi graphic prints. Equally fresh is the doublebreasted wool bouclé coat with make-a-difference studding on sleeves. However, coats are tailored, the two-button jacket with lapels has faux leather sleeves and the stretch poplin shirts feature a slimmer, smoother fit. If graphics play up the Replay logo in a big colorful way, in men’s closet the biker jacket still remains a big classic.
We must give a special mention to denim, which has been reconstructed, washed, treated, ripped and paired with faux leather. Women wear skinny and boyfit jeans, the former in powerstretch or hyperstretch denim, the latter in comfort or non-stretch denim. The palette sweeps from fine shades of black to medium blues with a rich electric cast. Replay reinvents constructions, materials, ironing and/or detailing. This translates into a biker style with holes & tears at the knee, a satin weave or a black faux dermatex. In alternative there are skinny high-rise jeans with pressed creases, as well as jeans with thermowelding down sides or micro studding in decorative form.
Men tend to prefer tighter fits, such as skinny and slim fits, light weights and ultrasoft textures. Black is the protagonist of the palette. Contemporary vintage washes & treatments predominate, as whiskering and dirtying subside significantly in favor of open rips, mends, faux leather or dermatex patches.
