The sartorial approach on men’s denimwear
Despite its youth (3 years old only), with its 3 departments (Denim.Lab – the brand, Denim.Lab productions – a development and production company, and Selvage.Lab – a curated selvage fabrics collection) Denim.lab is one of the most famous denim companies of The Netherlands.
For 2016 the denim studio has launched its new capsule collection, The Tonal, with a sartorial approach on men’s denimwear. Here, each pair of jeans has been stitched with tonal yarn for a subtle look and the interior is fully tailored with chambray in the waistband, backyoke and the inside backpockets. In order to create these items, the finest shuttle loom selvage fabrics, rigids & stretch qualities have been selected.
Besides the indigo denim fabric, also the sewing tread is indigo dyed and the leather patch is washed with indigo water. This ensures a long-lasting wash, so the yarn will fade down together with jeans. And what about the jeans, core of this capsule collection? The most used fits involves regular tapered and slim fits, used for rigid and stretch fabrics respectively. Beside pants collection, Denim.lab introduces jackets and shirts: the first one has been created in a double indigo canvas and a very special woven 16oz stretch indigo fabric; the second one is made from a selection of yarn dyed indigo checks and stretch denim shirt fabrics.
Each fabric is offered in a selection of washes: unwashed, desized for stretch fabrics, medium worn, heavy worn and r.i.p. that is ripped, patched & repaired.
